NCAA compliance

Flyintel's rights advisories are built on the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority's consumer protection regulations. This page explains that relationship precisely — what we do, what we don't, and how to check us.
We are not the NCAA
Flyintel is an independent company with no affiliation to, endorsement from, or authority delegated by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. We cannot rule on a claim, compel an airline to pay, or represent you before the regulator. Where this site says an advisory is "NCAA-powered", it means the advisory is derived from published NCAA regulations — nothing more.
What an advisory actually is
When a flight you are tracking is delayed, cancelled or overbooked, Flyintel matches the disruption against the relevant provisions of the NCAA consumer protection regulations and produces a plain-language summary of what those provisions say an airline owes a passenger in that situation.
Each advisory states:
- The entitlement — refund, rebooking, care, or compensation.
- The specific clause it rests on, so you can read the source yourself.
- The conditions attached, including anything that would remove the entitlement.
- What to do next, and who to say it to.
Where the limits are
- It is general information, not legal advice. An advisory describes the regulations as published. It cannot account for every fact of your particular case.
- Extraordinary circumstances change the answer. Weather, security events and air traffic restrictions can relieve an airline of obligations an advisory otherwise describes. We flag this where we can detect it, but we will not always know.
- The airline decides first. Flyintel helps you ask. It cannot make the airline agree.
- Domestic Nigerian routes only. International itineraries may fall under other regimes, such as the Montreal Convention, which Flyintel does not currently cover.
Keeping advisories current
The regulations change. We review our advisory rules against the NCAA's published consumer protection framework and update them when it is amended. If you believe an advisory misstates a regulation, please tell us at [email protected] — we would rather hear it from you than have it stay wrong.
Escalating to the NCAA
If an airline refuses a claim you believe is valid, you can escalate it to the NCAA's Consumer Protection Directorate yourself. Flyintel gives you the record of the flight and your correspondence so far to attach. We do not file on the regulator's behalf, and escalating through us gives your claim no special standing.
No fee on your compensation
Flyintel takes no percentage of any compensation you receive. We are funded by subscriptions, not by claim outcomes — so there is no incentive for us to overstate what you are owed.
